One Malaysian Tan Hock Eng after receiving a scholarship from MIT of USA who graduated and worked in American and Malaysia is an example of why Malaysia needs to treasure and focus on human development to advance our country. His MBA from Harvard university also helped him greatly to broaden his working experience in the recent move to relocate his company Broadcom a US$ 100 billion company to America.
A developing country, Malaysia needs to rethink its education attitude to produce more human beings of such caliber. “Education makes a people easy to lead, but difficult to drive; easy to govern, but impossible to enslave.” It is time for us to apply this quote from Henry Peter Brougham. Where do we begin to make a start in our quest for more of such human beings skilled in many fields? Not just in technology, but also in administration, psychology, science, transport and many other specialized fields such as philosophy, nutrition, mathematics and any related field that uplift humanities.
As parents especially those of child bearing age need to appreciate and understanding the mystery of the unborn child before and after conception. The intimate concern of the unborn while in the womb, and protecting this unborn soul from trauma, stress and fear will greatly enhance this foetus’s human potential after birth.
I have a great book to introduce and recommend for the whole nation to pursue together as a national project. This book is not new and is little known because of the lack of awareness of its importance in producing great wholesome, intelligent and emotionally healthy and stable human beings.
Written by Thomas Verny MD with John Kelly by the title of “The secret life of the UNBORN CHILD” was first published in January 1981. I have obtained permission from the author to reprint the book and to transfer the insight and wisdom of this book to as many parents and would be parents as possible to benefit society and eventually the nation and the world at large.
Some high lights and extracts from this book.
§ What will your child remember about life before birth? For a renowned conductor, it’s the music his mother played-only during her pregnancy. For an autistic girl unable to speak her native French, it’s the English that her mother spoke-three months before she was born! For others, it’s the sound of a voice, the murmur of a beating heart, the glare of lights in a hospital delivery room. Memories that can be comforting or terrifying.
§ Long before they are born, your children are thinking, feeling, and even acting. What happen to them before-and as-they are born may profoundly shape the people they will become . These startling findings have been even more dramatic implications. They give us a chance to help determine the course our children’s lives will take-starting months before they are born.
§ You can give your baby a greater chance for health and happiness-months before birth. Your unborn baby is:
§ Capable of learning
§ Able to warn you of medical problems you and your doctor may not be aware of
§ Able to hear and respond to voices and sounds-including music.
§ Sensitive to his parents’ feeling about him
§ Capable of responding to love
§ An active feeling human being.
The way in which you respond to and care for your unborn child may affect his physical and emotional well-being for the rest of his life. The choices you make today about your child’s birth may make a vital difference for years to come. You can prepare your unborn baby for a happy, healthy life. This remarkable book will show you how!
A 253 pages book that will transform your view and attitude towards an unborn child and what we can do as parents to prepare and cooperate with the laws of nature to produce a great human being who will be a blessing and asset to society.
