Can you still believe the expert in food safety?

This quotation by a great teacher born in 623 BC is very enlightening and provocative at the same time.
“Do not believe anything because it is said by an authority, or if it is said to come from angels, or from Gods, or from an inspired source. Believe it only if you have explored it in your own heart and mind and body and found it to be true.”
It is said that scientific truth takes about 20 years before it is taken to be obvious common knowledge by the masses. The power that be, which controls the mass media in their contents released to the public often mixed half-truth and propaganda  together in what is read and heard by the masses.
For example, how many years we have heard that cholesterol is what leads to a heart attack? Polyunsaturated fats such as corn oil, sunflower oil, soya bean oil are good for your health?
Vaccination is good for children?
If the above generally accepted facts were the truth, how is it that there are still so many people out there who die of heart diseases, when they avoid cholesterol and are still suffered by a heart attack? Children who are vaccinated are diagnosed to have autism?
So what is the truth about what are the factors that cause a particular disease?  If you can’t believe the health experts, doctors who can you trust in the sea of opinion dish out daily?
Our own experience on the issues involved?  Someone rightly says that we cannot live long enough on this earth, to make all the mistakes and learn from our own mistakes. So the dilemma faced by us is, what can we believe and what we need to reject?
For the purpose of this discussion, let us ask this simple question about the food we eat every day.
Our source of food is the key to our health. Natural source of food such as fruits, vegetables, and  grains if they are free from herbicides or pesticides and are fresh, we are going to be healthy consuming them. If however, if the food has been processed the likelihood of having chemical additives, coloring agents, preservatives are high and a risk to our health. Some common dangerous food additives.
·         Sodium nitrate. Added to processed meat to stop bacterial growth linked to human cancer.
·         Sulfites: Used to keep prepared food fresh, may cause breathing difficulties for those who are allergic to it.
·         Potassium bromate :Added to bread to increase its volume, linked to human cancer.
·         Propyl gallate: Added to fat-containing products, linked to human cancer.
·         BHA/BHT: A fat preservative used to extend shelf life, linked to cancerous tumor growth.
·         Propylene glycol: Better known as antifreeze. Thicken dairy product and salad dressing. Deemed generally safe by FDA
·         Monosodium glutamate (MSG) Flavor enhancer known to cause headaches.Linked in animals studies to nerve damage, heart problems, and seizures.
·         Butane. Added to chicken nuggets to keep them tasting fresh. A known carcinogen.
All these chemical additives are approved by health authority permitted to use in food manufacturing. Small amounts are considered safe.  Safe for healthy people, who are free from sickness, what about others who have eaten other sources of processed food which also has added preservatives as well? What about those who are diabetic, high cholesterol in their blood, on medication which may be intermixed with these food additives? What about those who on other medications and allergic to processed food? The exposure to these artificial ingredients are endless, and the long-term consequences unknown.
No wonder, there are so many sick persons of all ages, sex, and occupations. If we are all rightly advice and regarded as an acceptable permissible level of food additives in our food by the so-called experts and those in authorities to safeguard our national health, how then do we witness death by sicknesses and diseases as recorded by www.worldlifeexpectancy.com ?  Something is not quite right, somewhere, how can so many dies and suffer from one kind of sickness and  die by another disease, if everything we do as far as food is concerned is safe to eat? What is the truth ?  Who then is the dispenser of truth concerning our health and wellness?  This common-sense  rule to live by is as far as food is concerned.
Eat what is perishable and spoiled easily, but eat them while they are fresh. The chemical that kills the fungi, bacteria and germ can also kill the human cells, once enter the human digestive system.

The same teacher quote end my post, “ Three things cannot be long hidden. The sun, the moon and the truth.”
