Is
drinking distilled water detrimental to health?
Those who are against the long term consumption of
this pure water argue that drinking 100% pure water will lead to leaching of
minerals from the body. On the other hand, drinking water which has all kind of
dissolved minerals such as chloride salts, pesticides ,hormones, lead,
nitrates/nitrites, mercury, radium, perchlorate, uranium, bacteria &
viruses, ammonia, aluminium, drug residue, and other invisible dissolved
chemicals will cause diseases such as cancers, organ failures. So what is the
solution to this dilemma?
Water is a universal solvent to transport oxygen and
nutrients, at the same time eliminate waste products from the body’s
metabolism. It is just A MEDIUM TO CARRY
OUT LIFE’S METABOLISM. It is a neutral
agent to facilitate the process of living. Nothing more or less.
Without water human being will die in three days. Of
dehydration which bring to a stand still al the organs’ activity such as
breathing, filtration of blood, detoxifying process in the liver and
distribution of oxygen and nutrients to the cells in the body.
Distillation removes all the minerals contain in
water. This means, all the harmful substances are eliminated and water is free
from contaminants. Pollutants in the water, once enter the body will cause
havoc and destruction to the cells,
tissues and organs both in the long term and short term, the manifestation of
this ill effects depends on the immune system of individuals.
At this point, it is good to pause to consider the
significant difference between organic
or living minerals and inorganic or dead
minerals. Living also known as organic
or biological minerals are the
products of photosynthesis. For example, the minerals in the coconut water are
absorbed by the root system of the tree by reverse osmosis into the tree trunk,
transfer upward to the leaves and process by the sun’s energy , transform into organic minerals which then is
transported to the fruits into the husk and through the shell and store in the
nuts. These minerals are living and 100 % available and assimilated into the
body digestive system once consumed. This coconut water from a fresh nut is
having the same electrolytes concentration as the human blood. In emergency
where there is absent of saline pack, it can be used as a substitute to keep a
person from dehydration. As in the case of food poisoning which triggers
diarrhoea and vomiting resulting the loss of
excessive water from the body.
How can you tell whether the minerals is organic or
inorganic? A simple test is whether it can be kept in room temperature before
bacteria cause the spoilage. A fresh
green young coconut which suffers a crack even invisible to the human eye,
after a while, will have a cloudy water and smell stale once opened. Organic minerals from
fruits, vegetables and nut cannot be
kept for long without refrigeration. Whereas, inorganic minerals such as from
mineral water, artificial source found in mineral supplements, vitamins from
artificial source such as calcium from chalk( Calcium bicarbonate ) cannot be
spoil so easily because they are devoid of life and bacteria have no interest
in dead minerals which cannot sustain life.
Yes, we need living minerals for our life. The
sources are from vegetables, fruits and nuts. We also need water, clean pure
water without pollutants and toxins to replace the fluid we loss daily through
urination, breathing and perspiration. The solution is to add living or
biological minerals into our water after
it is distilled by a machine.
From my own experience it is easily achieved by
added hot distilled water with mulberry leaves, roselle fruits ,lemon grass
leaves and even tea leaves.
The normal tap water in Klang Valley has a
reading of between 50-90 ppm which has
chemicals from treatment process, Indah Water discharge and rustic pipe. But,
after distillation, the pure water which
has a reading of zero ( No minerals) become 250 ppm with mulberry leaves, Roselle fruits 950 ppm. Lemon grass leaves,
even second round has a reading of 437 ppm. So the question of drinking
distilled water which lead to leaching
minerals in the bones or organs can be easily overcome with this practice of adding leaves or fruits into the pure water. This
way, the water we drink can be
full of biological , organic
minerals without the need to worry about leaching or deficiency of useful minerals. But, more
importantly there no harmful and
dangerous toxins hidden in the water. By
this, we get the best of both world,
minerals available from pure water without the hidden, unknown minerals
from normal tap water.
